PCV windows

PVC windows - proven technology in a modern version

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) window joinery has enjoyed great popularity for years, mainly due to its excellent quality to price ratio. Modern PVC windows are not only an economic solution, but above all, they are modern technology, high thermal and acoustic insulation, as well as very good durability and resistance to atmospheric factors.

Profile building – what matters?

Modern PVC windows are based on multi-chamber profiles – most often 5-, 6- or 7-chamber – which determine the insulation properties of the entire window. These chambers act as an air barrier, which significantly reduces heat transfer from the interior to the exterior of the building. The more chambers and the better their construction, the higher the energy efficiency of the joinery. Profiles from renowned manufacturers such as Ekookna, Fasad, Łukplast meet rigorous European standards and are available in various installation depths – from 70 mm up to 90 mm, which allows them to be used in both standard and energy-saving or passive construction.

Glazing units – it's not just the number of panes that counts

The standard in modern PVC windows today are triple-glazed units (3-pane), which provide much better thermal insulation than their double-glazed counterparts. The warm spacer frames used in them (e.g. Swisspacer) additionally reduce heat loss in the area of contact between the glass and the profile.

The use of glass with improved parameters is also important – e.g. low-emission (Low-E), safety (VSG) or anti-burglary (P4, P5) glass – which is responsible for comfort, safety and durability of use

Fittings and seals – details that make the difference

High-class PVC windows are equipped with modern perimeter fittings that enable many functions: micro-ventilation, tilt gradation, unsealing function or incorrect handle position lock. Anti-burglary fittings (class RC1, RC2) are also often used as standard, which increase the level of security.

A well-designed sealing system – usually in the form of two or three EPDM seals – ensures tightness and reduction of outside noise. The heat transfer coefficient of the entire window (Uw) can be even below 0.9 W/m²K, which is in line with the requirements for energy-efficient construction.

Aesthetics and personalization

Modern PVC windows are not inferior to wooden or aluminium windows in terms of aesthetics. The technology of veneering with PVC foil or aluminium overlays allows for obtaining almost any colour or texture – including structures imitating natural wood (Winchester, walnut, golden oak), concrete or smooth matt surfaces (e.g. anthracite, matt black).

The possibility of choosing the colour from the inside and outside (so-called duo colour), a wide selection of handles, glazing beads, mullions and opening methods (turn, tilt, sliding, tilt and slide) allows for full adjustment of the window to the architectural design and the customer’s taste.

Why is it worth choosing PVC windows?

High thermal and acoustic insulation
Resistance to moisture, UV radiation and changing weather conditions
No need for maintenance – just wash
